German Area Studies Program
The German Area Studies program at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a two-year temporary position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2008.
This position may be extended a third year.
Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in German required, experience teaching with technology highly desired. The appointee will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and evidence of strong research potential. We are seeking a generalist with a strong commitment to an interdisciplinary and multicultural curriculum and environment. Candidates with special interest in and experience with dramatic literature and theatrical production are especially encouraged to apply, as are candidates with an interest in gender studies and/or film studies. The successful candidate will teach all levels of German language and a wide range of courses on the culture and literature of German-speaking Europe as well as contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum.
