Position Description

Assistant Professor - Tenure Track

Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a tenure-track position in chemistry beginning July 2008.  We will consider excellent candidates in the areas of physical chemistry, biochemistry, and related fields.

A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is required, as is evidence of excellent teaching and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Post-doctoral experience is highly desirable.

Teaching responsibilities will depend on the strengths of the successful candidate. The chemistry department is ACS-certified, very well equipped, and has a large and diverse group of chemistry students.  Start-up funds are available to assist the successful candidate in establishing an active research program with undergraduate students.  Further information and a more detailed description of the position opening may be found at http://academic.hws.edu/chem/
